Styled shoot - behind the scenes!

Updated: Sep 25, 2019

Well hi there!

As a start to this venture in sharing more 'behind the scenes' and bits and pieces that require more than just an Instagram post, I thought I would share more from our recent styled shoot!

Myself and a bunch of incredible vendors (who I am also lucky enough to call friends!) got together to collaborate and get creative with our collective skills.

Our idea was to create a wedding that showcased our individual style, and to inspire any future brides or anyone who has an interest in weddings - or just purely appreciate a bit of hair/makeup/flower/photography inspo!

On a beaut sunny Monday, together with a bunch of gorgeous models (just look at them!), we ventured out to a family property just outside of Hamilton to bring this plan of ours to life!

First things first - models getting the full treatment from Gabi & Hannah, and stepping into the gorgeous dresses from Samantha Stokes bridal.

After getting the gorgeous girls glam (not that it took much - how beaut are they?!), we convoyed out to a private property on the outskirts of Hamilton.

It was a SUPER blustery day, which made my vision a wee bit tricker to bring to life (think shirts blowing up, hair in the face, plinths falling over kind of windy) but nothing we can't deal with!

I was inspired by a florist who I admire deeply (@trillefloral). Introducing more colour, less greenery, and use of tonal play. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE greenery in bouquets & backdrops, however this was the opportunity to play with something different and create something that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but sure is pretty dreamy to me!

It was our new plinth's debut, so it had to be a goody!

With an aim to go floral foam free this season (as much as possible!), the mechanics used were chicken wire, cable tied to the plinths. If this was a real wedding, stem tubes would be used to keep the more needy flowers hydrated.

In the mean time - touch ups were being made with the models, and Tash from Black Robin was working her magic.

With florals assembled and models ready to go, it was shoot time!

Our beaut models Jade and Nat were dressed in All the While dresses, and Briar in Samantha Stokes. We wanted to create a bridal party with a point of difference while still keeping it wearable and something that could be translated into a 'real' wedding.

With our dream bridal party photographed, it was Nat & Jade's turn to join Briar as our dream bride. A quick change, and we had 3 beaut brides ready for the next shoot.

Our plinths came into play (after a quick relocation to get them out of the wind!) and our vision came to life.

Such an incredible day with some incredible women, all of which are creators of their own local businesses. The dream!
